Rodan Media Group Corporation is the corporate incarnation of Rodan Media, originally launched as a d/b/a in 2001. Rodan Media was originally conceived by Danny Pryor and Robert P. Cox, III. The name Rodan, although identical to Rodan the Flying Dragon in the Godzilla movies, actually is the union of RObert and DANny.
In its early days, Rodan Media was the design arm of Graffiti Networks, which provided web hosting and online broadcast services. Graffiti Networks also operated SFB Radio, the precursor to today's popular online music channel, gayinternetradiolive.com.
By the end of 2002, company co-founder Danny Pryor was working primarily as a sole proprietor, providing web development services for clients in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. In order to broaden the consumer base of Rodan Media, however, services were expanded to include print graphics and advertising design.
By early 2007 the company was a significant player in the South Florida real estate ad market, developing ads for agents of Keller Williams, Tom Smith Development, Castelli Real Estate Services and more. The firm also began doing convention graphics and providing audio/visual services for the well-known Targeted Traffic Domain Conference and Expo.
In mid-2008, the company began returning to its roots of domain development, but began adding video production and more broadcast-oriented services, all significant features of comprehensive and well-developed websites.
In early 2009, Danny and his friend and attorney, Donnie Goodwin, began discussing the possibility of establishing a corporate entity in order to continue expanding Rodan Media's market reach and credibility in the ever-expanding domain industry. In mid-June 2009, Rodan Media became Rodan Media Group Corporation.
Rodan Media Group Corporation now is working with partners in the Domain Industry to mass-develop a network platform of domains which will provide financial news, entertaintment news, traffic and travel news, lottery information, weather, sports news and political news. The long-term development project is already well underway with approximately 50 active websites, including turnpikeinfo.com and the Lottery Result Network, which can be accessed through the portal domain americanlotteryresults.com. Between the these two networks, alone, Rodan Media and its partner companies operate nearly 75 domains.
Additionally, Rodan Media Group will soon offer online databases through in a cloud computing platform, which will soon be deployed on thecloudcity.com.
Donnie Goodwin is a former real estate investor who worked as an investment banker for Merrill Lynch from 1986 to 1987, and then for Paine Webber from 1987 though the end of 1994. Donnie relocated to South Florida in 1997 and has been practicing corporate and business law, as well as criminal law, for the past 10 years.
Danny Pryor is a former radio news anchor and Associated Press award-winning journalist who turned his attention to website development in 2000 while still working for a magazine company. He has worked for KNUU radio in Las Vegas, WINZ and WIOD radio in Miami, served as news director for WGYL and WTTB radio stations in Vero Beach, and Metro Networks Miami operations office from 1997 through early 1999.
In late 1999 through January 2001, Danny served as the news director and managing editor of Scoop Magazine, a weekly entertainment publication based in Wilton Manors, Florida and distributed in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. When Scoop Magazine went out of business in January 2001, Danny started Rodan Media. |
